What do a Gorilla and a Bulldog Have in Common?

Where would the sports world be without those outlandish mascots? All of those big fluffy Halloween costumes and their funny antics keep fans amused and buying tickets to games even when a team is always losing. While many of us neglect these souped up cheerleaders, not every team is like the Lakers or Yankees who have won dozens of world championships, and a quality mascot can really have a profound effect on a teams ability to stay in business. Because they're this crucial I've decided to highlight the finest mascot from every major sports league which usually features mascots. So let's begin! NFL - Edgar, Allan, and Poe from the Baltimore Ravens. These cleverly dubbed mascots first came into existence 1996 when the Ravens first moved to Baltimore. Though for some reason Poe is the only one who has lasted until today, he he still manages to win the NFL's most feared mascot award, and is very famous for attending charities and festivals all around Baltimore. He resembles a giant raven sporting a Ravens jersey and has a habit of intruding on tailgating fans. MLB - Mr. Met from the New York Mets - He was first seen in a real costume when the Metropolitans began playing in Shea Stadium in '64, Mr. Met is potentially pro sports most well known mascot. He was welcomed into the Mascot Hall of Fame in 2005, and had a big role in ESPN's "This is SportsCenter" commercial campaign which makes him a identifiable social figure in his own right. NHL - Iceburgh from the Pittsburgh Penguins - He was first seen in 1992, a time when the Penguins were among the best teams in hockey and in the world of sports in general. Iceburgh was also featured in the action movie Sudden Death alongside Jean Claude VanDamme. During the flick a character dressed up as Iceburgh so he was able to go unnoticed. Iceburgh looks like an big penguin sporting a Penguins shirt. NBA - The Phoenix Suns Gorilla - Wearing a typical gorilla costume and a Suns shirt, the Suns Gorilla is definitely one of the the more spry mascots in all of sports, the Suns Gorilla made is first appearance in 1980 and is known to do crazy dunks after jumping off of a trampoline. He was also been inducted into the Mascot Hall of Fame along with Mr. Met. College Football - Uga the University of Georgia Bulldog - The only mascot on this list that is not a dude in a suit, Uga is in fact a living bulldog who makes appearances at each game in a Georgia uniform. There have been seven Ugas to date, and longtime fans adore Uga to the point that the previous Ugas are buried on the stadiums campus and a lot of fans lay flowers on the graves before every contest. The mascots listed in this article have integral parts of their teams culture for a long time and seem to have no real intention of quitting. They have inspired other mascots all around the world of organized sports, from recreational to the bigs. Even some fans have decided to costumes and sport them to the home games!

COSTUMES for EVERYONE, ANYTIME

For once in your life, have you ever thought of what you have become if you’re not a human? Let’s say an animal or princess perhaps? Costumes are here to fulfil our dreams, our imaginations.  Especially for kids, they always love to make believe. When I was a kid, I would look myself into a mirror and make believe and with the help of costumes, I can portray the characters I want to be. Most of the time, this happens during “trick or treat” days and costumes for Halloween are in demand. Together with my friends, we will go house to house giving tricks to neighbours.  But before that, we would dress up with our most beautiful Halloween costumes. It is a pleasant feeling when you give happiness to those around you. You can see the joy in their eyes when they see kids in their Halloween costumes. So much more for toddlers dressed up on their outmost toddler costumes. They can be anything they want to be – animals, flowers, little superman, little wonder woman, Mickey mouse, Winnie the pooh and so on.

When I grew a bit bigger, say about 8, my girlfriends and I would play fairies and angels during Halloween. Girls loved Tinkerbell as its Halloween costumes. During this time of the year, you can be whatever or whoever you wanted to be especially during costume parties. I remember that most of us get jealous on one another because of our costumes – who looks better than who, who looks prettier and with all the accessories… those were the childhood days…

As time passes by, more stuffs are getting more serious. Having said that, we work, of course we also play. Now I am working, every time of the year we have dinner and dance. Once we have costume party as a theme. Sexy costumes and adult costumes were all over the place. Eyes were on who’s stunning that evening. I dressed up as Pocahontas. At the time I am trying on which costume for Halloween I’ll wear, I started to reminisce about my childhood days. Pocahontas is one of my favourite cartoon characters of all time. She is brave and portrays a great sense of fidelity. She’s my idol. So putting on Pocahontas costume can be able to feel the character itself.

It is a great feeling whenever you vent your stress to something else. Costumes are not for parties alone but may be able to add to spice up your life. Adult costumes especially may contribute to spice up your partner in life.  We sometimes need to loosen up and just enjoy the moment, and with these sexy costumes, we may be able to spur the moment. Sometimes we need to be naughty, nice or seductive. So put on now your favourite costume, portray the character, grab a partner or friends and enjoy the moment.
